I would recommend Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 10.1 MP with 12x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3 inch LCD. Good zoom, good picture quality and take good HD video

or if you can afford, get Digital SLR camera which can take far better picture quality than point & shoot. Nikon D5000 and Canon T1i are good Digital SLR camera that can take good HD video.
