Camera Lens for sports?

I just got a new camera. It is the Canon Rebel T1i. I don't like the lens i got with it and would like to buy a better one. I will be taking pictures for mainly soccer games i and will be on the sideline. I would like something that is fairly cheap and i don't care what brand it is.

Field sports like football, soccer and baseball, you will see a lot of 400 mm f/2.8 and 600 mm f/4 lenses

Court sports like basketball, volleyball, the 24-70 mm f/2.8 and 70-200 mm f/2.8 lenses are used a lot.

Fairly cheap they are not. Of all the fields of photography, sports and wildlife shooters have to spend the most money on their lenses.

I think the 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM is a good choice. Not exactly cheap, but if you were willing to give up the IS, you would pay about $650 as opposed to $1200.

70-200mm f/4 L IS USM from sigma would work grate or a 24-300 which is what I use then you can use it for other things. On the down side it will cost you a little more.

Try canons 75-300mm lens. The zoom should be sufficient, if not you can always buy a teleconverter to double the zoom.
