Olympus 1gb picture card?

I recently got a cheap Polaroid 1.3mp camera and also an Olympus picture card. I thought picture cards were universal and would fit into any camera but my picture card doesn't seem to want to fit in the camera. Are picture cards not universal?

No, there are a number of types of cards.

Some types of memory cards used by Digital cameras:

SD memory cards
SDHC memory cards
Compact Flash memory cards
Memory Sticks
MultiMediaCard

Below is a link that lists the types of cards and provides some images of them.

Hope this helps.

The cheap Polaroid probably uses the SD type memory card, the Olympus will be an XD type memory card.

There is no way to make the XD card work in a camera that uses SD.

If you look at the card slot, or the cover/camera body next to the card slot, it should tell you what sort of card it takes. The manual will also do this.
